Mtn Top Morgans in new homes

(Mtn Top Whippoorwill Tanek X BRMF The Yellow Rose)
2009 smoky black filly
(Ee Cr/cr)This is one incredible filly and one I thought
I would never even consider parting with. She has that "IT" factor. Tru is conformationally correct from her beautiful
head following a perfect neck that she carries gracefully. To a nice laid back shoulder and perfect back to a wonderful hip. She is
all "Morgan" being feminine and graceful to having just that perfect amount of substance to her bone structure. Smart is an understatement with her. She figures things out in a snap and will
sweet talk her way to allowing even the gruffest horse to share their food with her- it is quite a hoot to watch her do these things.
She loves to strut her stuff and flags that tail of hers even just out trotting around. She has that beautiful movement from her
sire that he has to date passed down to all his foals. Natural knee action and perfect forward hock movement, she is truly beautiful
to watch move and everyone has to stop what they are doing when she does. Add in that she is a smoky black so she carries one cream gene.
Tru's lucky new owners are the Overlys of Fairwind Farm in OH. Congratulations!

(Gone Gold x BRMF The Yellow Rose)
2010 palomino filly
Well this little girl sure wanted to hang on. Her momma went 350 days carrying her. Took her sweet time foaling but it sure was well worth the long wait. My husband did a great job of finding the perfect name
for this beautiful palomino filly. Kerria is a Japanese Yellow Rose so she is certainly named after her dam. We added the Gold one because of course she is
golden in color but also the name Gold shows up numerous times in both Roadie's and Rose's pedigree.
This sweet girl is very curious and sweet not at all nervous about me touching her. She is boldly marked with a huge blaze that runs into her nose and a white
chin that streaks white up between the jaw. She has a super high white stocking and it looks like a half little pastern sock on the other hind. So she could
very well be splash and sabino. UPDATE - Well it now looks like Kerria could
just as well have two white coronet bands in the front as well. It is very tough
to determine with the palomino color or any light color IMO so we won't know for
sure until she sheds out. But all four of her hooves have stayed white to date
(at one month old). AND the big exciting news is that it also appears that she
has blue in her eyes just under the pupil. Again tough to determine for sure it
could just be that she will have amber eyes like her sire and this is how her
eyes change so time will tell. If indeed she has blue that is just another
indicator that she could be splash.
Kerria is wonderfully bred as well carrying 9.38% of Californio blood, 3 crosses to Tio Lalo
and 10 crosses to Red Correll and not all through Blackwood Correll which is
very difficult to find. Add in her 13 crosses to Jubilee King and well WOW is
about all I can say. And I personally just love her touch of Archie O with 3
crosses. All this within 9 generations.
Kerria's new owners are the Overlys of Fairwind Farm in OH.

2008 red dun colt
(ee Aa Dd)
I had sent a message out that I would offer "Dunkin" for sale or trade to someone if they wanted a nice dun stallion, or I would have to geld him as I just have TOO many intact boys here on the farm. Well, my prayers were answered. I got a wonderful email from Sharon Keller of Justapesty Morgans in WI and she asked if we could work out a deal. Well we DID!!! Thank you Sharon SO much.

I could not be more excited to announce that we have found the most wonderful home for Desi. Jennie of IL has purchased her very first horse!!
Jennie has been a long time horse rider and has been a lover of Morgans most of her life, yet she has never actually
owned her own horse.
So Desi will truly be her first horse. I have enjoyed watching Jennie and Desi together and just love the knowledge that
Jennie has about Morgan horses. Welcome Jennie to the wonderful world of Morgans and colorful Morgans as well.

I am very excited to announce that Gone Gold, aka Roadie will be heading
west the end of this month to WY and the Bar None Ranch owned by Harvey
Seidel. With the loss of Harvey's stallion S Bar B Pierre Noire this
summer Roadie will have some very large shoes to fill. But I know he will
be up for the task. And he will love every minute of the beautiful country
and all the incredible Morgan mares Harvey has waiting for him. This means
God has answered my prayers in finding Roadie the perfect home and allowing
him to stay a stallion. I believe that it is possible that Harvey will
collect and ship on Roadie in the future so if you are interested in a
Roadie baby just check out Harvey's website
when you are ready.

Gracing the world on April 21, 2009 at 5:30 PM is the black colt MtnTop Black Gold, aka Diesel.
Named after his sire Gone Gold, Diesel is an incredible mix of old Morgan blood. He is 100%
Foundation out
of my favorite mare, Spring Lake Katefly who is the dam of
one of my stallions. I love everything this mare has put on
the ground and Diesel is no exception.
Diesel is a perfect mix of
Jubilee King and Ashbrook/Lippitt brought in from both the
sire and the dam.
Diesel's new owner is Judy Roberts of Ohio. Judy purchased and still owns a wonderful Morgan gelding that she
purchased from us over a year and a half ago, Dakota Jasper, Our Morgans are like potato chips- you can't just have one!

Born March 31, 2009 at 10:30pm at 318 days has not stopped this boy from being a HUGE sturdy balanced baby. Big, Bold and Black is how
we are describing our newest foal, MtnTop Endeavour (MtnTop Whippoorwill Tanek x Tan War Bird). Solid black with no white
(and tested homozygous for black!). He is charming and loving of people and would rather follow them around then his dam which she is none to happy about. He loves to have his behind
scratched and will back up for it to be scratched. This boy will have plenty of personality. He will easily
mature over 15 hands.
Indy's new owners are Anne and Diane of Creek Side Morgans, Vicksburg, MI.

I am very excited to announce the Sale of SpringLake Lady Nikki to Jerri Ostendorf of TX. Nikki will continue her education with
Jerri's trainer, Reagan Mabray Barry, to become an all around Morgan horse.
She will be Jerri's dressage, trail and family horse, as well as her new best friend I am sure. We could not ask for a better
home for our sweet Nikki and I know she will be loved dearly and spoiled rotten with Jerri.

Slow motion movement video of X at 5 months
“X” is one very nice colt. He has plenty of bone yet shows a great deal of refinement.
X has that wonderful “look at me” Morgan head from the tip of his ears to his nice fine muzzle
with a super big blaze to show it all off. The curve of hip on this young man is fabulous and
gives him that big push from the rear that we all love in our horses. He has that natural
wonderful knee and hock action that shines through from his dam, Springlake Katefly, that
we so want in our Morgan horses. X is one chromed out boy and with his deep chestnut color
his two super high stockings will accent his great movement. Add in a front full sock and
one with a touch of white and he will be a super showy boy.
X is blessed with a wonderful pedigree rich in old blood that includes multiple crosses to
Jubilee King, he is the great grandson of Sunup Neptune and Speedramp Walker. Along with
great traces back to Whippoorwill Duke. X’s half brother is our very own stallion, MtnTop
Whippoorwill Tanek, see stallions page.
A huge congratulations goes out to Virginia Halfpenny on the purchase of X, who will be joining Ginny and her
Morgan mare, Noble Playgirl at
her farm in Berlin, MA.
Ginny and her mare currently compete in driving along the East coast, and when X grows up Ginny's
plans are to teach him to ride and drive and join her mare in learning to drive in pairs. So in a few years keep an eye out for X
- you may just see him competing at the GMHA.

This is what it's all about right here in one package. Hawk is a strong combination of the “golden cross” of Jubilee King and Flyhawk/Go Hawk lines, he traces back to
Jubilee de Jarnette over 100 times. He is what you would expect of these bloodlines: GREAT temperament, smart, easy going and a fast learner. He is a
"people horse" and will leave the herd to be with you. He is very self assured and will do anything asked of him with no complaints. He has the most beautiful legs and the angle of his shoulder is perfect. Tiny dishy head with tippy
little ears, large soft eyes. He has wonderful ground manners; walks and trots
off your shoulder movement and will dead stop just off your body.
Congratulations and best wishes go to Hawk's new owners, Michael and
Carol Yates of Leonard MI, who plan to do some driving with him!

(Coachman's Cognac X Tan War Bird)
2008 palomino filly
Video on YouTube of Missy
“Missy” is bold and fearless yet super gentle and loves being around people.
There's not a mean bone in her body. She nickers and comes
running when she sees you. Missy has really impressed me with
her attitude. She has taught herself to cross our makeshift
bridge and taught herself to load in the stock trailer all by
herself. She shows no fear yet took her time in checking out
each object by circling them and making sure they couldn’t
“bite” her. As soon as she figured out they were no threat to
her, she just jumped on (took her about 10 minutes for each
obstacle). When learning to tie the first time (I use the Tie
Block ring) she gave one tiny little attempt at a pull and
figured this is no big deal; she didn’t stress over it al all.
She is leading and tying and having her feet done and takes it
all in stride.
Missy is very balanced and moves with such grace. She has great shoulders, clean
straight legs, and a nice hip and rear on her that will give her
movement great push from behind.
She is just one solid young foal. I can see Missy doing just about any discipline put in front of her, but she
could excel at eventing, jumping, or out on the trail. When she moves it is a nice and collected, so she would make a nice WP horse as well.
Missy is half sibling to X so she carries the wonderful lines of Sunup Neptune as well as Speedramp Walker.
Both sides of Missy's pedigree are full of horses with "Bird" in
their names, so her name was chosen to reflect this tradition. Her dam line is a favorite of mine as Birdie (Tan War Bird) is the wonderful WAR line
that traces back to War Omega Bird that goes to Red Correll as well as Flyhawk; her other lines trace nicely to Jubilee King and Flyhawk alsol and with just that touch of Lippitt in there,
it sure gives her babies that unmistakable “Morgan” look.
Congratulations to Missy's new owner, Terri L. of NC!

(Trophy Lippitts Ethan Sam X
Pretty Painted World)
2004 chestnut frame overo half Morgan mare
"Rain" was bred on our
farm. She is really the best of both worlds with
that wonderful Morgan graceful movement that
makes it appear as if she is floating. Rain has
great ground manners and is a super friendly and
in your pocket mare. She gets along with all the
horses in the herd. She is
foundation on her Morgan side and strong
foundation bred on her dam side. My husband
really loved riding her sire as he was the
smoothest ride around and had such beautiful
action. Just amazing to watch and so very comfy
to ride. She moves just like him.
Congratulations to her
new owner, Bill Gresham of Tipton, MI!

Spring Lake Morgans in new homes

(Spring Lake Pallidin x L'Cima Hollywood Star)
2008 black mare
Big, bold, beautiful and black all this wrapped up in this incredible young mare. Nellie is
close to 14.3 at the young age of 2 years old. She is super curvy in all the right places a has a
super hip and a head that will make you drool. She is sweet and smart. Her dam has multiple driving and
English pleasure championships under her belt. Some of her many wins include first in 3 year old Pleasure Driving Mares,
Section B at the 1996 CT All Morgan, first in Novice Classic Pleasure Driving at the 1999 Delmarva Classic, Classic Pleasure Driving Champion at
Mason-Dixon in 1999, Classic Pleasure Driving Champion at the 1999 and 2000 Mid Atlantic Show, and Classic Pleasure Driving Champion at the 1999 Delmarva Summer Classic.
Mid-A, Devon and many others. Retired from showing, Nellie's dam is now a great trail horse and has many overnight campouts to
her credit as well. Her sire is the fantastic favorite on the farm, Pal, whose sire was a Grand National Driving Champion. So this girl
should do anything asked of her. She moves like there is no tomorrow, just beautiful.
Nellie's new owners are the Overlys of Fairwind Farm in OH.

Video of Libby doing ground work, December 2009
Video of Libby after 30 days under saddle, March 21, 2010
Outside work riding around cones, and jogging, March 21, 2010
"Libby" has it all in the gene pool-
on her dam's side she is a Treble's Willy Wild
granddaughter, along with Noble Command, and on her sire's
side she is double Trophy in 5 and 6 generations. Throw in
her Whippoorwill Duke lines and she is as lovely and smart
as her lines tell you she should be.
Libby is a pocket pest and just loves human company. She
will leave the herd to come running to you when she sees
you. If given the chance she would probably climb in your
lap. She is VERY smart and has just loved to learn, picking
things up not only quickly but she retains the information.
She will stand all day to be brushed and loved on.
Libby has found a wonderful home with a family in Florida, and
one of her stablemates is another horse from our breeding program!

(Whippoorwill Talisman X L'Cima Hollywood Star)
2006 chestnut mare
YouTube video of Pepper
Pepper is one of the sweetest, nicest coming 3 year old mares I have come across in a long time. She is very sensible with a loving temperament to match. With her incredible smooth curvy hip and shoulder you can easily see where her nice movement comes from. Throw in a gorgeous head and she is a great package. With her bloodlines she will be able to do anything you ask of her-
from reining like her Champion grandsire, Whippoorwill Newmoon, to driving like her Champion driving dam, L’Cima Hollywood Star, or anything in between.
Pepper is a high quality mare and her bloodlines shine through in
everything that she does. She has wonderful ground manners and knows all the
basics. Her training will continue with her being started under saddle and
her price will be reflected as her training increases. Pepper should mature
to 15 hands with no problem. Congratulations to her new owner, Mr. Morris of FL.
(Reland Big Eddy X L'Cima First Lady) 1993 chestnut mare
Holly has multiple driving and English pleasure championships under her belt.
Some of her many wins include first in 3 year old Pleasure Driving Mares, Section B
at the 1996 CT All Morgan, first in Novice Classic Pleasure Driving at the 1999
Delmarva Classic, Classic Pleasure Driving Champion at Mason-Dixon in 1999, Classic Pleasure Driving Champion at the 1999 and 2000 Mid Atlantic Show,
and Classic Pleasure Driving Champion at the 1999 Delmarva Summer Classic.
This mare has the fastest trot I have ever had the pleasure to sit. While all
the other horses are breaking into a canter, she can leave them in the dust with
her big, super smooth trot. Holly has given us 3 outstanding foals and we expect
no less of her in the future. Congratulations to her new owner, Julie Russell of Odessa, FL!

(Springlake Pallidin x Southbrook Trophy’s Summer)
2008 chestnut filly
This is such a wonderful story I just had to share.
It all started back at the end of 2007 when I was contacted by Jennifer Murdock of Can-Do Morgans from Wy. She was excited that she had found my website and had seen my mom's stallion, Spring Lake Pallidin, aka Pal (Spring Lake Peter D x Dulcie Lenda) as she also had a daughter by Peter D. She had been trying to get her mare in foal for over 5 years with no luck. She inquired about any offspring of Pal and I told her I would keep her posted. So last year when Pal had 2 fillies hit the ground I emailed Jennifer. She was so excited about the filly Spring Lake Gypsy Rose, aka Lolo (Spring Lake
Pallidin x Southbrook Trophys Summer) that she wanted to buy her. Well as we all know life can get in the way sometimes and due to some unforeseen forces
Jennifer had to inform us that she could not get Lolo.
When I went to my moms to pick up horses this past December I took a few picture of Lolo for the website. I decided to send Jennifer the pictures as well.
When she emailed me back she mentioned that her Trophy mare had passed on in November and she didn't get a foal from her either. Lolo was the perfect
combination of Spring Lake Peter D and the Trophy lines that she loved so much. So it is with GREAT excitement that I announce the sale of Spring Lake
Gypsy Rose to Jennifer Murdock of Can-Do Morgans. I know this will be a perfect home for Lolo and she will be loved very much, probably spoiled as well.
