Tanek's slideshow video from birth to 3 years old

This is the horse of my dreams. I was very blessed and grateful that Mary Jean Vasiloff of McCulloch Farms leased my mother and I her wonderful stallion Whippoorwill Talisman. Breeding "Tali" to my mare "Katie" produced this 100% Foundation stallion.

Tanek traces back to "Figure" over 11 times in 12 generations. He goes back to Jubilee King through all of his grandparents with a nice touch of Lippitt and Flyhawk. And he traces to Winterset through Blackwood Correll. Every line of this guy is rich in old blood and very up close in his pedigree. Tanek comes from a long line of versatile Morgans with Champions in Reining, Driving, Dressage, Western pleasure, Hunter, Park and Endurance.

There is never any doubt that Tanek is a Morgan. He has correct conformation, a wonderful head and his movement is elegant, efficient and exciting to watch. He has passed on his elegance to his foals and they are just as fantastic to watch as he is. He will add a great hip, short back and a fantastic shoulder to his offspring. Along with natural knee action and correct hock movement. Throw in a beautiful head and his foals scream Morgan.

I was very excited at his birth knowing I could pass along such wonderful quality Morgans in the future. The added surprise was when I had Tanek color tested and low and behold he came back E/E a/a. This means he is homozygous for black and can only produce black based foals- he will NEVER produce a chestnut foal. Tanek will stand to a limited 2 outside mares for 2010. His stud fee is $850.00 LFG

(Smokestorm X Hilton's Royal Charm)
2008 red dun colt
(ee Aa Dd)

I was very excited when I saw pictures of this very nice rare red dun colt. There was just something about the look in his kind eyes and the little tippy hooked ears that really draws you in. We decided on the barn name of combining the "Dun" word and the beginning of his registered name "Kings" coming up with the name Dunkin. Sounds yummy huh? He is that.

Dunkin is currently a yearling and though still in the awkward stages you can certainly see that he is put together very nicely. He has an incredible laid back shoulder with a nice deep hip and some of the nicest legs I have seen on a Morgan to date. With his lovely head there is no mistaking that he is a Morgan. And just check out his stripes, Dunkin's markings are very vivid and rich giving his coat a mixed array of color throughout. I will anxiously be waiting for him to fill in and grow up.

I did some research on Dunkin and found that his line is very rich in Lippitt breeding with some nice Flyhawk, Archie O and Red Correll to boot. I loved this because I feel it will cross well with my mares. And hopefully add a few stripes in the mix. Though he isn't 100% foundation (currently there are only 2 foundation dun Morgans living out of the 130 living dun Morgans to date, 2009). Dunkin is certainly a very high percentage of foundation blood, with just 2 out crossings- one 11 generations back and one 12 generations back. I love the idea of helping to preserve this rare Morgan color.

Dunkin will stand to ONLY 2 outside mares for 2010 so if you are interested in adding a few stripes to your herd contact me to book to him before his book fills up. Dunkin will pass on his dun gene 50% of the time. Dunkin will stand to a limited 2 outside mares for 2010. His introductory stud fee will be ONLY $650.00 LFG!!!

Stallions standing at Spring Lake Farm

(Spring Lake Peter D X Dulcie Lenda)
2004 brown stallion
YouTube video of Pal

"Pal" is a wonderful, 100% foundation stallion all wrapped up in a rich brown color. He has some of the oldest Morgan blood one can find anywhere. And all up close and personal in his pedigree. His 4th generation pedigree reads like a who’s who of old timers, Squire Burger, Whippoorwill Duke, Lippitt Sam, Senator Graham, Ulendon and Panfair are some of those famous sires. Match that up to equally impressive mares like Flyette (a Flyhawk daughter), Jenney Lake, Monty, Lippitt Dusky Kate and Lippitt Ethan Ann along with the great producer Diana-Mansfield.

Pal has a beautiful head, all nice and dishy with tiny tippy ears and the kindest eyes. Built like a brick house from short cannon bones and a hip and shoulder to die for, this young man has a fabulous temperament that makes him a great package deal. He is bred for conformation and temperament and passes that on to his offspring.

Due to an injury that occurred while breeding an outside mare (just before coming north to Michigan in the fall of 2009), Pal's breeding will be very limited and may or may not include outside mares. If so they will be approved mares only. Pal will return back to my Mom's farm in FL late April 2010. Pal has a torn left lateral meniscus, so standing him at stud will depend on how well Pal can handle it. Foals can be contracted and sold in utero with an on farm lease at either MtnTop Morgans (for 2011 foals only) or Spring Lake Farm. Check our mares page to see what mares we have available. Inquiries invited. For sure Pals foals will be limited.

Thistle is proof of a long time breeding program that works. Rich in Jubilee King blood through both his sire and dam. Bring in multiple crosses to the great Trophy and toss in some Lippitt and Flyhawk and you can’t go wrong with him.

Thistle is built like the statue of Figure. Super hip and short back with an incredible shoulder. Put in a beautiful head with a wonderful eye and you would know he was a Morgan both coming and going. Thistle is a thinker. Give this guy a puzzle and he will solve it; Rubik’s cube should be no problem for him. His movement is elegant and he has a super temperament. Ask him to do something and he just does it. Top that all off with a showman attitude and he is a load of fun to be around and ride and train.

Thistle is now back home at Spring Lake Farm in Lake Wales FL and will stand to the public there in 2010 with a stud fee of $500.00.
